What cookies are
Cookies are tiny text files that a website asks your browser to store so that the next time you visit, the site can remember something about you. They are not programs, they cannot read files on your computer, and on their own they cannot identify you as a person.
We use them the same way most modern education platforms do — to keep the site running properly and to understand which lessons are genuinely useful.
The cookies we use
Broadly speaking, our cookies fall into three buckets:
- Essential cookies — needed for logging in, keeping a session active and remembering your cookie preferences.
- Analytics cookies — anonymised data about pages visited, time on page and general traffic patterns.
- Preference cookies — remembering settings such as your language, course tier or dashboard layout.
We do not use advertising retargeting cookies and we do not sell data collected through cookies to third parties.
Managing your preferences
When you first land on our homepage, a cookie banner appears with options to accept everything or stick to essentials only. Your choice is remembered so the banner does not nag you every visit. You can also clear cookies at any time through your browser settings.
- Delete individual cookies from the privacy panel of your browser.
- Block cookies from specific sites entirely — though essential features may break.
- Use private or incognito mode if you prefer to browse without persistent storage.
Third-party cookies
A small number of cookies are placed by services we rely on, such as our video host for course sessions and our analytics provider. These third parties have their own privacy statements, and we choose vendors that commit to reasonable data protection standards under Australian Privacy Principles.
We review our cookie inventory roughly twice a year and remove anything that is no longer earning its place.
